Response to TCFD

We have been providing various values to our customers through the design, construction, and sales of water treatment systems including ultrapure water production system. Since our establishment, we have been pursuing the “highest purity water” while always being conscious of global environmental conservation in developing our business. Our environmental awareness has also prompted us to promote higher efficiency and energy conservation through enhancing the functionality of components in ultrapure water production systems, as well as propose various systems from an early stage, including a functional water production system that reduces the use of chemicals in the semiconductor manufacturing process and a production system of water for injection that employs the highly energy-efficient UF membrane method for the pharmaceutical industry.

Recognizing that global environmental initiatives including those to address climate change are an important management issue, we formulated our Basic Environmental Policy in 2005 with the aim of contributing to the realization of a sustainable society through our business activities. With the cooperation of all parties in our supply chain, we are working on green procurement and other initiatives that will lead to the reduction of our environmental footprints. In addition, we formulated our Basic Sustainability Policy in 2021 with the aim of addressing sustainability issues more proactively, and set forth “efforts for environmental issues” as one of the materialities. We resolved to systematically implement efforts to protect the global environment, including initiatives to address climate change, under proper governance. Going forward, we will further reduce greenhouse gas emissions by disclosing climate change-related information based on TCFD recommendations, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable carbon-neutral society.
