Basic Policy on Appropriate Handling of Specific Personal Information

Nomura Micro Science Co., Ltd. ("NMS") defines "Basic Policy on Appropriate Handling of Specific Personal Information" as shown below, and familiarizes all NMS officers and employees with this policy to work on ensuring an appropriate handling of personal number and specific personal information ("Specific Personal Information") as an organization.

  1. 1. Compliance with Related Laws, Regulations and Guidelines

    NMS complies with “Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures (My Number Act),” “Act on the Protection of Personal Information,” and “Guidelines for the Proper Handling of Specific Personal Information (for Business Operators)” to appropriately handle Specific Personal Information.

  2. 2. Purpose of Use
    NMS uses Specific Personal Information only in the range listed below.
    a) Clerical task related to personal number for officers, employees and their dependents etc.
    i) Clerical task related to tax and withholding tax
    ii) Clerical task related to labour insurance
    iii) Clerical task related to social insurance
    b) Clerical task related to personal number for individual, such as external individual payment recipient etc.
    i) Clerical task related to payment report of remuneration or fee
    ii) Clerical task related to payment report of dividend, retained earnings, and interest from funds
    iii) Clerical task related to payment report for real estate rentals etc.
    iv) Clerical tasks related to payment report of consideration for receipt of real estate
  3. 3. Safety Management Measures
    a) NMS has defined "Rules for Handling Specific Personal Information" for the management of Specific Personal Information, and takes necessary and appropriate safety management measures to prevent leakage/damage etc. of Specific Personal Information. NMS also gives NMS officers and employees necessary and appropriate supervision when they deal with Specific Personal Information so that safety management measures can be appropriately taken.
    b) When Specific Personal Information is to be outsourced to a third party with permission of the person him- or herself, NMS selects a party with sufficient level concerning management of Specific Personal Information protection, defines to take safety management measures by written agreement etc., and has necessary and appropriate supervision over the outsourcing party.
  4. 4. Continuous Improvement
    NMS continuously reviews this basic policy and our internal rules so that protection of Specific Personal Information etc. is appropriately performed.

    NMS appropriately handles all inquiries concerning handling of Specific Personal Information.
